Business Analytics is a concentration within Shenandoah University’s MBA degree program. 

Advance your skills in Business Analytics by using code-based business analytics software to analyze large-scale data, apply advanced predictive models to predict future values, and solve real-life business problems to make optimized decisions. 

Our curriculum includes experiential learning opportunities and is designed to cover modern analytical methods and industry software. Business analytics courses are taught by faculty that are experts in their fields and expert guest lecturers.

Explore the four courses required to earn the certificate: 
QM 520 Descriptive Analytics for Business

This course introduces commonly used code-based business analytics software packages. The covered topics include descriptive analytics, data visualization, and data management. The focus will be on analyzing large-scale realistic data. Credits: 3

QM 521 Predictive Analytics for Business

This course focuses on data mining and machine learning methods. The students will apply these techniques using code-based business analytics software for analysis of large-scale data. Credits: 3

QM 522 Prescriptive Analytics

This course focuses on modeling and solving large-scale, real-life business problems using code-based business analytics. Credits: 3

QM 523 Business Analytics Capstone

This course focuses on applications of business analytics skills on large-scale, real-life problems problems. The capstone project will analyze data to provide solutions to the problems that are present within a selected organization. This may include collaboration with industry and/or local nonprofit organizations. Currently employed students can also work on a problem relevant to their position. Credits: 3
